Energy Efficiency Loans

Louisiana HELP - Home Energy Loan Program 

Through the Louisiana HELP program, a homeowner can obtain a five-year low-interest home improvement loan to improve the energy efficiency of their existing home. Homeowners must utilize a lending institution participating in the program, and be a current resident of the State of Louisiana. Credit worthiness is determined by the lender.

Weatherization Assistance Program

The federal weatherization assistance program (WAP) can insulate and weatherize the homes of residents who meet specific income guidelines.

Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

LIHEAP is the energy assistance program that helps eligible low-income households with help paying their utility bills. Benefits are based on several conditions including total household income, number of people living in the home, cost of utility bill and whether applicant receives a utility allowance.
