Let the sun heat your home's hot water and reduce your monthly energy bills by installing a solar water heating system. Energy Smart provides an instant rebate of up to $1,000 for qualifying solar water heating systems.
Who Can Participate?
Any residential customer who receives electrical service from Entergy New Orleans, Inc. and has an existing electric water heater is eligible to receive an instant rebate for the installation of a solar water heating systems installed by an Energy Smart participating contractor.
How Can You Participate?
Step 1 – Select a Contractor
Contact a participating contractor to schedule an appointment for an estimate. The contractor will perform a site assessment and complete a shading report to determine whether your home receives enough sunlight to benefit from a solar water heating system. Upon completion of a satisfactory shading report, the contractor will provide you with an estimate for a qualifying system.
Step 2 – Submit a Rebate Application
The contractor will submit a rebate application on your behalf to Energy Smart for approval prior to installation. Energy Smart will perform a pre-installation inspection to verify existing equipment and a post- installation quality assurance inspection. The rebate amount will be reflected instantly on your invoice as a discount. Rebates are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Qualifying Systems and Rebate Amounts
All systems must be OG 300 rated and incentive amount is based on kWh savings.
Rebate Amount = kWh savings(annual) x $0.34/kWh
Note: Savings are determined by the Energy Smart Deemed savings.
